Video Production Estimate

"How much does a video cost?" is invariably the first question I'm asked. The quick answer is that as a rule of thumb, on the East Coast, a professionally produced corporate video ranges in price from $1,500 to $3,000 per minute of finished product. So, if you have in mind a 10-minute video your budget should be in the neighborhood of $15,000 to $30,000.

The real answer is of course more complicated. The common metaphor is that of building a house. "How much does it cost to build a house?" Well, it depends on the location, the size of the lot, the size of the house, the building materials, etc. Producing a documentary or corporate or educational or fund-raising video or DVD is not as complicated as building a house. But, there is a production process which must be followed. And the various components of the process determine the cost. If you look at our production process overview (which every production house follows, with variations depending upon the experience and personnel of the house), you will be better prepared to arrive at a precise budget.

Here is the basic question you might ask of your organization as you prepare to produce an effective, persuasive television program or DVD:

Is your message important enough to warrant the time, effort and resources that are required to produce a professional videotape?

There are many fine causes, and your's might well be one of them. But your organization may not be equipped to undertake a professionally produced videotape or DVD. At Interlink Media, we've been producing television programs since 1973. All of the people here who would work on your production have broadcast and/or Hollywood experience. We know what is required to produce a quality program, and we have over 30 awards in peer-reviewed competitions to prove it. Our price range begins at $2,000 per minute of finished product. If you're not prepared to invest in making your message as valuable as possible you probably want to contact less experienced or less qualified companies or individuals. If your message really is important, and you truly are seeking to make an impact in your community or on this world, then we would be honored to work with you. Please print out the production process and then contact us.
